METRÓ
Suburban Modernism & Kinetic Geometry
the METRÓ tileset is a zitozza favourite—a high-energy system rooted in the octagonal geometry of budapest’s transit network. the motifs find their origin in the bright orange, architectural panels and iconic octagonal windows that define hungary’s suburban metro stations, reimagined as a versatile printing system.
symmetrical in all directions, METRÓ allows for the creation of intricate, interlocking grids that feel both structural and fluid. when configured with gradient colourways or high-contrast neons, the motifs take on an "op-art" quality, creating a sense of depth and movement across the surface.
this tileset also serves as the structural foundation for our TEGELS collection, where the geometry is softened by lush, architectural pastels. whether you are referencing the bold optimism of the 1970s or looking for a contemporary, abstract statement, METRÓ provides a sophisticated, geometric anchor for the modern interior.
