the METRÓ tileset is a zitozza favourite—a high-energy system rooted in the octagonal geometry of budapest’s transit network. the motifs find their origin in the bright orange, architectural panels and iconic octagonal windows that define hungary’s suburban metro stations, reimagined as a versatile printing system.
symmetrical in all directions, METRÓ allows for the creation of intricate, interlocking grids that feel both structural and fluid. when configured with gradient colourways or high-contrast neons, the motifs take on an "op-art" quality, creating a sense of depth and movement across the surface.

our first one in the super heavyweight range! this brand new rug is printed on our new, thicker, heavier, warmer jute with a more prominent texture due to its 2 x 1 weave with a heavier weight and a slightly looser effect. and what else would complete this beautiful, tactile texture than our connective, brutalist METRÓ print in a playful arrangement of mint green, dark olive and a cherry red octagon for a deep red accent. it’s just a delicious addition to the contemporary home in your modern urban jungle.

this square-ish rug (at 71 x 74 cm) is all printed up in a luminous orange colourway for different variations of our METRÓ print. the octagonal geometry of these patterns radiate with fluorescent retro vibes!
it uses an orange dyed scrap piece too - scrap rugs are our way of recycling, small leftover jute pieces are often dyed, printed, or both and used for products because we really do mean zero waste!

this large cushion is printed in a trendy combination of bright pink and olive green for a very effective, contemporary look. this print used a scrap piece - remnant from a rug production in line with our zero waste principle. it’s stitched to the pre-dyed jute using a contrast stitch in neon pink. a striking, modern look!
the pattern is using the octagonal motif from the METRÓ tileset in combination with the staircase print of the SKÁLA design - together they are an abstract, geometric reminder of a modernist, somewhat retro transport hub! a beautiful, sustainable addition to the modern home interior.
