to the moon we go! rakéta is the hungarian word for rocket and this tileset is inspired by stars, planets, space and the aerodynamic shapes of the technology to take us there. like most of our MODERN collection, it is also slightly inspired by some elements of brutalist architecture and modernist sculptures. retro vibes were not on our minds too much when we designed it but we do love the mid-century modern patterns it can create! we certainly wanted to take the optimism from an era when outer space was an exciting source of inspiration.

it’s a fun design that’s suitable for bright colours in contemporary combinations as well as more understated prints - in particular, the simplicity of some of these shapes can make it part of a more minimalistic decor as well.

it is also one of our most extensive sets with many complementary pairs that can be used in combination with each other or in contrast as a chess pattern in beautiful colour combinations.
