this is a piece of abstract embroidery, part of a series exploring brutalist architecture further in unique designs. TORONY means tower in hungarian and this piece is using a vibrant blue and bright yellow contrast colour scheme in a rectangular geometry reminiscent of brutalist tower blocks. the yarns are of different compositions and the raw hessian backing cloth is a neutral background - the fabric equivalent of concrete.

this piece is 20 x 30 cm and comes in a 30 x 40 cm thin black, plastic frame with a white mount inside and a hanging piece for wall nails or hooks.

this artwork is part of the jutefest exhibition in dundee. deliveries will be completed in september 2021.
